Statistics of Abuse
- 1 in 4 girls, and 1 in 13 boys are victims of child sexual abuse
- In 2015 the burden of child sexual abuse was $9.3 billion, so it is not cheap. The personal cost is unquantifiable, and the experience causes lifelong trauma for some individuals.
- Females who have experience child sexual abuse are 2 - 13 times more at risk for sexual violence in adulthood.
- The urge to fulfill this sexual desire leads to child trafficking.
- Young black girls involved in human trafficking are labeled as whores by the FBI even though they cannot consent to sexual activities.
- Likewise missing black girls are labeled as runaways so there is limited effort to find them.
- In 2021 nearly 100,000 black women are girls were reported missing in the USA.
- In 2021, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received over 29 million reports of suspected child sexually exploitation.
